Help

Media library

Browse uploads, check storage usage, and remove unused assets.

Quick start

  1. Sign in and open Media from the app sidebar (/media).
  2. Check the Storage strip and the Used, Limit, Total files, and Unused cards so you know how much space your uploads use.
  3. In the Upload section under Storage, click Upload files to add images, video, audio, or PDFs, or drag those files onto the page.
  4. Browse the asset grid. Optionally narrow the list with Source and Type, then open a preview when the tile supports it.
  5. For files you no longer need, look for the Unused tag under Used in, then click Delete and confirm.

Files you upload here join your account library. To place a file on a public page, insert it from a picker in the portfolio editor (for example showcase sections).

Deep dive

Storage and plan limits

The Storage panel tracks uploads across portfolios, your profile, and themes. The usage strip and Used / Limit cards show live values for your account. Limit may say Unlimited when your plan has no capped media quota.

This guide does not hard-code byte sizes or plan ceilings. For how quotas and billing fit together, see the FAQ, Settings → billing, and Plans and tokens (may 404 until Account & billing Help ships).

Unused is a count of files that are not referenced anywhere Portura tracks. Prefer deleting unused assets when you need space.

Source and type filters

Above the grid:

FilterOptions
SourceAll sources, Portfolio, Portfolio avatar, Profile picture, Theme background
TypeAll types, Image, Video, Audio, Other

Changing either filter reloads the list from page 1. When results span more than one page, use pagination at the bottom.

Upload from Media

Use Upload files in the Upload section under Storage, or drag allowed files onto the page. The overlay confirms a drop. Unsupported types (for example ZIP or EXE) are skipped with an error. Per-file size limits appear in that same row.

New files show as Unused until you insert them from an editor picker.

Asset cards

Each card shows a preview, type and size tags, a source tag, the upload date, and a Used in list:

  • Linked locations when the file is used (portfolio projects, gallery, theme backgrounds, avatars, and similar).
  • An Unused tag when nothing references it.

Click a supported image, video, or audio preview to open a larger lightbox. PDFs and some other files show a placeholder instead of a lightbox.

Download opens the file in a new tab. Delete appears only for unused assets. Choosing Delete opens Delete media? — confirm with Delete, or cancel. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Empty library

If you see No media found, use Upload files or drag images, video, audio, or PDFs onto the page. After an upload succeeds, the file appears here so you can browse, download, and manage storage.

Tips

  • Check Unused and the matching card count before you hit a storage limit — deleting unused files frees quota without changing live portfolio content.
  • Prefer reusing an existing library file from the editor picker instead of uploading the same asset twice.
  • Use Source when you only want theme backgrounds or avatars; use Type when you are hunting videos or images.
  • For project and gallery media workflows, see Showcase sections.
  • On the Media page, use the ? next to the title for a short reminder and a Learn more link back to this article.

When storage looks full, start with assets tagged Unused. Files still listed under Used in must be detached in the editor before Delete appears.
