Deep dive
The Job Descriptions list
Job Descriptions shows every posting you have saved. Cards appear in a responsive grid. Each card shows the job Title, optional Role, Company, Posted date, and a View job posting link when you saved a URL.
If you have no postings yet, the empty state explains the workspace and offers Add job description.
Portfolio selector
At the top of the page, use the Portfolio dropdown. It defaults to your default portfolio (labeled with (Default)), or the first portfolio if none is marked default.
Match scores, resume generation, and cover letter generation all use the portfolio selected here. Scores and materials are stored per portfolio for each job, so switching the dropdown can show a different score or download state for the same posting.
Keep one portfolio as Default if you usually score and generate materials against the same site. Change the dropdown only when you want to compare another portfolio.
Add a job description
Click New job description to open the New Job Description side panel. Fields:
| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Yes | Shown as the card heading |
| Role | No | Optional role label on the card |
| Company | No | Optional company name |
| Post Date | No | Shown as Posted on the card |
| Job Posting URL | No | Enables View job posting |
| Description | Yes | Full posting text — paste the complete listing |
Click Create to save. Match scoring and AI resume / cover letter use the Description content, so paste the full posting rather than a short summary.
Edit and delete
Open the card menu → Edit to open the Edit Job Description panel with the same fields. Click Update to save.
Delete appears below a separator in the menu with danger styling. Choosing it opens a confirmation dialog (Delete Job Description). Confirm with Delete, or Cancel to keep the posting.
Deleting a job description cannot be undone. Confirm only when you intend to remove that posting and its related materials for that job.
Card actions map
Each card has quick buttons plus matching items in the kebab menu. Labels switch after you generate once (for example Generate score becomes Regenerate score).
| Action | What it does | Guide |

Tips
- Paste the full posting into Description before you score or generate materials.
- Use the Portfolio dropdown first when you have more than one portfolio — scores and downloads follow that selection.
- Prefer the card menu for Edit and Delete; use the on-card buttons for everyday score / resume / cover letter work.
- Cover letter generation needs Pro (
ai-cover-letter); match scoring needs Pro (job-match-ai). Upgrade prompts appear when your plan does not include those features. - For portfolio content edits after a match, use the improve flow and the portfolio editor — do not expect Job Descriptions to rewrite your live sections silently.
