Compose your portfolio

Add extra galleries, projects, and other sections — then rename, copy, or delete them.

Quick start

  1. Sign in, open My Portfolios, and click Edit on a portfolio to open /portfolios/edit/[pid].
  2. Scroll to Additional sections (below the built-in Gallery, Projects, and other cards). Click Add section.
  3. In Section type, choose Gallery (or Projects if you would rather add a second project list). Optionally enter a nickname, then click Add section.
  4. Open the row menu → Rename, set Section name, and click Save name. Visitors never see this name.
  5. Under Appears on, tick Home if the new section is not on a page yet. Click Preview on the row — preview opens that page. An unplaced section has no public preview.

Built-in Gallery and Projects cards above still edit your original sections. Add section is how you create extras. Styling lives in the theme editor: Section styles and Theme editor overview.

Deep dive

Built-in cards vs extra sections

The cards you already know — Profile, Gallery, Projects, and the rest — still edit the original sections for that type.

Additional sections is the list of extras. Click Add section, pick a Section type, and optionally add a nickname. The new section is independent content. It does not appear on your public page until you place it with Appears on or in theme Layers.

You cannot add or duplicate Hero, Contact Form, Profile, Contact, Location, or Connect. Each portfolio has one of those.

Rename, Duplicate, and Delete

Each extra-section row has a menu:

ActionWhat it does
RenameOpens Rename section. Section name is an editor-only label.
DuplicateCreates an independent copy with its own content. Edits to the copy never change the original. This is not the same as showing one section on two pages.
DeleteRemoves the section and its content everywhere it appears. Confirm Delete section before it is gone.

Taking a section off a page is Appears on (untick that page), not Delete. Delete is permanent for the content itself.

If a copy lands with no page, you will see a note to place it in theme Layers (or tick a page under Appears on).

Preview

Preview on a placed section keeps the page it currently appears on. If the section is on more than one page, preview opens the first of those pages.

Unplaced sections have no public preview — there is no page to open. Place the section first.

Calls to action (Plus)

Calls to action is a separate card under Page sections, not an Add section type.

Plus: Adding a CTA requires composable-extras. Click Add to open Add call to action. Free and Pro cannot add CTAs. Content blocks stay on Pro. See current plan details on Pricing.

Do not use Duplicate on a CTA when you meant to show the same CTA on two pages — that is Appears on.

How many galleries or project lists you can add depends on your plan (catalog defaults):

PlanGallery or projects
Free1 each (original only)
Pro1 each (original only)
Plus8 each

Those counts include the original Gallery / Projects section. Extra galleries and project lists are Plus. Current prices and plan names: /pricing.

Styling extras

Content is edited here. Layout, colors, and visibility are edited in theme Layers. Changing styles for a section updates every page it appears on. Start with Section styles and Theme editor overview.

Tips

  • Give extras a clear Section name (for example “Personal work”) so you can tell them apart in the editor and in Layers.
  • Use Duplicate when you need a second gallery with different photos. Use Appears on when the same gallery should show on two pages.
  • Place a new section on Home before you look for it on the public page or in preview.
  • Save open side panels before Publish / Publish draft.

After Add section, check Appears on. A new gallery that is not on any page will not show in preview or on the public site.

Troubleshooting

  • Gallery and Projects are in Section type. Hero, Contact Form, Profile, Contact, Location, and Connect never appear there.
  • If Add section is disabled, you may have reached your plan limit. Check Pricing or remove an extra you no longer need.

Preview does nothing / the section is missing on the public page

  • Confirm Appears on has at least one page ticked. Unplaced sections have no preview URL.
  • Place it in theme Layers if you added it from the editor and it still says it is not on a page.
  • Publish or preview after you save — visitors only see published content.

I deleted a section and it vanished everywhere

  • Delete removes the content from every page it appeared on. That is expected. Confirm Delete section only when you want it gone.
  • To hide it on one page only, untick that page under Appears on.
