Portfolios overview

How portfolios fit with themes, Home and Plus extra pages, and the workspace.

Quick start

  1. Know the three pieces: a portfolio is your career content; a theme is how that content looks; your public URL is the live Home page visitors open (typically /p/[slug] on portura.ai). On Plus, extra pages use /p/[slug]/[page].
  2. After you finish first-time onboarding, open My Portfolios from the app sidebar — that list is the hub for every portfolio you own.
  3. From a portfolio’s workspace menu you can Edit portfolio, Preview, Edit theme, open Version history, View public page, or return to My Portfolios.
  4. You should now know where content, look, and the live URL fit — and that My Portfolios is where you start.

Deep dive

Portfolio vs theme vs public URL

Keep these separate:

PieceWhat it isWhere you work
PortfolioYour career site content — profile, projects, experience, and related sectionsEdit at /portfolios/edit/[pid]
ThemeVisual configuration — colors, typography, section layoutsEdit at /portfolios/theme-edit/[pid]
Public URLThe live page visitors see after you publishHome is /p/[slug] (or a custom domain on Pro). Plus extra pages use /p/[slug]/[page]

Changing theme does not rewrite your section content. Editing content does not change theme layouts by itself. The public URL only reflects what you have published — drafts stay private until you publish. Details: Publish and drafts and Preview and public page.

My Portfolios is the hub

My Portfolios (/portfolios) is the signed-in home for your portfolio list. From here you create portfolios, open editors, and use each card’s menu for everyday actions.

How-to for the dashboard: My Portfolios. How to add another portfolio (blank or resume import): Create a portfolio.

Always use the canonical /portfolios/... paths in bookmarks and Help. Older /portfolio/... aliases may redirect, but guides teach /portfolios only.

Default portfolio

One of your portfolios can be marked default (for example via Set as default on a card). Use default when you want a clear primary site — for job search tools, sharing habits, and anything that should point at “your” main portfolio. You can change the default later from My Portfolios.

Free, Pro, and Plus portfolios

Free and Pro accounts include one portfolio. Plus unlocks multi-portfolios so you can keep separate sites (for example personal vs freelance brands), up to five. Creating an additional portfolio on Free or Pro shows a Plus upgrade path instead of a second blank site.

Home vs extra pages

Free and Pro keep one long-scroll Home page at /p/[slug]. Plus can split sections across Home and extra pages (up to eight total, including Home). Extra pages use /p/[slug]/[page] — for example /p/jane/work.

Add, rename, and delete extra pages in the editor Pages card. Assign each section with Appears on. How-to: Nickname, URL, and pages. Preview and live extra URLs: Preview and public page.

For current plan details, open Pricing or the FAQ. Do not rely on Help for dollar amounts — they can change.

Workspace menu actions

Inside edit, preview, theme, or history, the workspace menu (same labels across those screens) typically includes:

  • Edit portfolio — content editor (/portfolios/edit/[pid])
  • Preview — private preview of how the site will look (/portfolios/preview/[pid])
  • Edit theme — theme editor (/portfolios/theme-edit/[pid])
  • Version history — prior published snapshots (/portfolios/history/[pid]; Pro entitlement — see Version history)
  • View public page — opens the live public URL in a new tab
  • My Portfolios — back to the hub (/portfolios)

Collaborators may see Shared with Me instead of My Portfolios, and may not see owner-only history. Inviting others: Share and collaborate.

This overview does not walk through section forms (profile fields, project cards, and so on). Those belong in Portfolio editor Help when published.

Where to go next (Portfolios)

Follow these Portfolios guides as you need them:

  1. My Portfolios — cards, menus, and opening editors
  2. Create a portfolio — blank or resume import; Free, Pro, and Plus limits
  3. Publish and drafts — what goes live on the public URL
  4. Share and collaborate — invite another Portura user
  5. Preview and public page — preview vs Home /p/[slug] and Plus extra pages
  6. Nickname, URL, and pages — nickname, slug, and Plus extra pages
  7. Version history — restore prior published snapshots (Pro)

Guides still marked draft return 404 until published. The Related section at the bottom of this page only lists published articles in Portfolios.

Tips

  • Treat My Portfolios (/portfolios) as your default signed-in starting point after onboarding.
  • Decide content in Edit portfolio and look in Edit theme — mixing those jobs in your head is the most common confusion.
  • Preview before you publish when you want a private check; use View public page only for what visitors already see.
  • Keep one default portfolio if you use job search or share links often, so you always know which site is primary.
  • Plan limits and Pro feature lists live on Pricing and the FAQ; Help focuses on the clicks inside the app.

Bookmark this overview and My Portfolios. Open the next Portfolios guide only when you are ready for that task — you do not need to read every article first.
